So this is the first study in Indonesia are trying to see if the sea pandanus can be used as an anti-termite. Among the substances flavonoids, saponins and tannins.
After the test pitokimia, it turns out all three of these substances are also found in the sea pandan. That means sea pandan can also be used as an anti-termite.
From there the two of these students then took samples from the sea pandan Bagedur Beach, then processed into an extract by removing the thorns and leaves are cut and chopped.
After that, put in the oven, baked up to 5 percent of its water content. The new extraction process is carried out in the laboratory.
After becoming extract, and conducted trial tests on termites. There are two methods used. Methods feedback and contacts. In the method of bait, termites are forced to take the pandan leaf extract. While the contact method, the termites will be presented directly with pandan extract, can by spraying.
Apparently after the observations were made, the contact method is more effective to kill termites. But since this is a natural substance, the time to be able to eradicate the termite colony will take longer than with the anti-termite agent made from chemicals. Sea pandan leaf extract is classified as a substance that has a high mortality.
In the future both of these students want to introduce to the public Malingping that there is great potential that can be exploited pandan society. This extract is certainly safer and environmentally friendly because it is natural.
They said he will not sell them to the artificial extract Malingping citizens, but will give him in vain. But it was while stocks last. They also did not rule out the possibility if there are industries that want to develop their findings this extract.
